The 4th of July is a great time for outside activities, especially the night activities with fireworks. With the amount of rain we saw in the month of June in Kearney, NE., Grand Island, NE., and Hastings, NE. there is going to be an abundance mosquitoes this 4th of July.
Somethings to remember when going out after dusk this 4th of July:
1. Use mosquito replants with DEET.
2. If weather permits; wear clothing with long sleeves and long pants.
Somethings you can do around your home to keep mosquito activity down.
Make sure you don’t have a lot of standing water or puddles in your yard or driveways.
Standing water creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes, so anything you can do to remove standing water helps your home in the future.
